After the success of his three Billy Jack films, actor, director, and screenwriter Tom Laughlin brings us The Master Gunfighter, which was adapted from “Goyokin”, a popular Japanese samurai film. Finley McCloud (Tom Laughlin) is as keen with a sword as his blazing gun. When brother-in-law, Paulo, plans to steal a shipment of U.S. Government gold and massacre a local Indian Village, their battle to the death is inescapable. Set in early California, the story portrays the struggle for survival of the haciendas against the encroaching U.S. Government looking to take over their land. The Master Gunfighter features the screen debut of supermodel Barbara Carrera (Never Say Never Again) who received a Golden Globe nomination for her work in this film. The film also stars Ron O’Neil (Superfly).
