Surrounded by misfits and eccentrics, Steven (Academy Award winner Adrien Brody from The Pianist) struggles to find his place in the world. His family and friends love him, but don’t really understand him or his passion for becoming a ventriloquist.
The only normal person in his life is Lorena (Vera Farmiga from Autumn In New York), his employment counsellor who gets him his first gig as a ventriloquist. In an effort to express his feelings, he makes a disastrous (but hilarious) visit to her home resulting in a restraining order.
It takes a stranger’s wedding day, a trail of mishaps and one act of heroics to help him realise his worth, thus gaining the respect of his friends and family, and the recognition and love of Lorena.
