Strangely enough, a nanny illegally crossing into Mexico with two American children, and a rebellious Japanese teenage girl whose father is sought by the Tokyo police fit into the tale. Spanning different ‘worlds’ within our one planet, each of these four groups of people are inextricably tied to one another in a shared destiny that is far-removed from their ideal lives.
