Close the door, dim the lights, take a seat and leave your troubles behind. The Classic Matinee Triple Bill is your exclusive gold pass to the Matinee Era ? A time of quality, style and sophistication. The Square Peg (1950) ? It is the Second World War and Norman Pitkin (Norman Wisdom) is a proud road mender for the council until he is recruited into the Pioneer Corps. From the beginning, the worst fears of the Commander are confirmed ? trying to turn Norman Pitkin into a soldier is like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole. The Bulldog Breed (1960) ? In despair after being rejected by a haughty cinema attendant, Norman Puckle (Norman Wisdom), tries to commit suicide but is rescued and persuaded to join the Navy. In the Navy he is hand picked by the Admiral to be the first man sent into space. But why the bungling Puckle and, more importantly, how will be cope? A Stitch in Time (1963) Norman Pitkin works for Mr Grimsdale in a butchers shop. When the shop is held up, Mr Grimsdale, of Norman?s suggestion, puts his gold watch in his mouth for safekeeping. When a shot rings out Grimsdale swallows the watch. After accompanying him to the hospital, Norman believes helping people is his true calling.
