Persuaded by those around him to claim the Crown of France, Henry V, King of England sets off with an army of 30,000 men. Their first battle is victorious but illness depletes Henry’s army. He decides to retreat to Calais, but the French ambush him with a vastly superior army and the famous battle of Agincourt ensues. Despite their numbers, the French are defeated in one of the most startling wins ever for the British. Nominated for 4 – 1947 Academy Awards including Best Actor and Best Art Direction.
