When an aspiring model, Brier (Pell James), and a struggling musician, Luke (Steven Strait), fall for each other in a brief moment on a New York subway train, their lives diverge on separate paths. Years later, Brier moves to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, where she befriends fellow would-be actor Clea (Ashlee Simpson). A chance encounter with Luke in the wilderness of LAs underground music scene soon reignites the spark between him and Brier. Luke has been toiling for years for little reward and no record deal, and Brier and Clea begin a buzz campaign to lift his profile.
