This is food to be relished! BAMBOO – Kylie shares the secret family recipes she grew up with, the inspiration for her own restaurant. (Episode 1) My Auntie (Mrs Jiang’s) Homestyle Fried Eggs, Sweet & Sour Pork (Modern Style), Uncle Jimmy’s Stir Fried Noodles, Fresh Bamboo, Crayfish and Organic Chicken Salad. SPICE – Kylie takes us through her Chinses versions of traditional Australian favourites. (Episode 2) Kylie’s radical roast chicken with vegetables, Deep Fried Fillets of Snapper with Lively Tomato Salad, Spice Baharat, Moroccan Lamb Shanks Tagine. RICE – Kylie loves to entertain and prepare recipes for her friends from the very best fish she can find at the markets. (Episode 3) Crispy Skin Duck with Fresh Blood Plum Sauce, Hiramasa Kingfish Carpaccio, Salt & Pepper Squid, Rice, Stir Fried Mussels. SHELLFISH – Scallops, Mudcrab, Hokkein Noodles – 3 generations of Kwong women make party food. (Episode 4) Fried Rice, Fresh Hokkein Noodles with Chicken. Live Tasmanian Scallops with fresh mint, Fresh Mudcrab Salad with pickled bamboo, Homemade Jelly Cakes. NOODLES – The Chinses are inventive cooks, making delicious meals from basic ingredients. Kylie tries out her cheap-cut recipes on the staff at a famous Chinese restaurant. (Episode 5) Waygu Beef Brisket with Caramelised Eschalots, Slow Cooked Honeycomb tripe with Green Peas, Sauteed Chicken Livers with watercress and radish salad, Fresh Rice Noodles, Luscious Bacon with Berries. MUSHROOM – There’s a party for the opening of an art exhibition and Kylie is doing the catering. (Episode 6) Salad of Foie Gras, Crayfish and soft-boiled duck eggs, Chicken Sandwiches, Italian mushroom ragout, Japanese Eggplant with garlic, Olive Oil and Tomatoes. EGG – Kylie has been invited to a delicious outdoor lunch by the sea – the only catch is that she has to cook.
