Lous perfect life is turned upside down when she is attacked near her home. This traumatic turn of events sends her and Alex retreating to their country estate on Shelter Island. The usually tranquil island becomes a haven of isolation as a severe storm takes out phone and electrical lines and cuts off transportation to and from the island.
