| William Holden stars in this remake of the 1935 film Texas Rangers as a man torn between duty and friendship. Set in the harsh reality of the wild west, Holden displays the gravitas that would see him break through into international stardom the following year in Sunset Boulevard. Three amiable outlaws get separated running from a posse after holding up a stagecoach. Two of them inadvertently join the Texas Rangers (Holden and William Bendix) and reform while the third (MacDonald Carey) continues his outlaw ways. A showdown between the former friends becomes inevitables as Carey becomes more and more daring and sadistic.
