Dr. Lightman and his team, including Gillian Foster, continue to use their expertise in deception to help law enforcement and individuals uncover the truth. They tackle a variety of cases, including uncovering secrets within dysfunctional families, investigating a potential “Angel of Death” at a health care facility, and facing off with cult-like leaders. Ben Reynolds, the FBI agent, is absent in season 3 due to a change in the show’s dramatic structure. The season also explores the personal lives of Lightman and his daughter, with Lightman eventually telling her he loves her.
